Now I think I heard it somewhere, but i can’t find it on the net, did Stephenie Meyer self publish her work before she got signed by her publishing company?
I know it wasn’t Twilight but something else, something she had done for family and somehow she sent it off or an agent saw it or something. I think she said something like that when she was on Oprah or something.

You are confused. No, Meyer didn’t sell Twilight by happy accident. She wrote it with the intention of getting it published and sent it to agents deliberately, exactly like everyone else does. She was posting on writing sites about trying to get her work published _years_ before Twilight came out.
If you mean she wrote something which wasn’t published…of course she did. Again, just like everyone else.
Her “oh, it all happened by accident” persona really, really does no favours to the thousands of young teens who then think people who tell them that getting published involves _work_ are being “mean”.
