Publisher Children's Book

Pagan children's books are not always easy to find. A glance through the blogs on Google's deal with the Pagan parents reveals that many parents want to educate their children with the ideals of living in harmony with nature often have to look hard to find books suitable for children.

Of course, not hard to find children's books with magical themes. Alan Garner, CS Lewis and Susan Cooper's novels have been thrilling generations of children. The phenomenon latest Harry Potter demonstrates the perennial appeal of magic.

However, Pagan and Wiccan parents know that there's more to wave a magic wand and spells.

The real value of Neo-Paganism is on the appreciation of the cycles of nature and the recognition that human beings are a part of the natural world. We we do not own or manipulative. Two thousand years of Judeo-Christianity and four hundred years of scientific materialist philosophy dominates the mainstream, we have led not to salvation by God or science, but on the brink of ecological disaster.

The ideologies that see the Earth as a single resource to be exploited and bled by leeches dominant species have led directly to the clearing of tropical forests, pollution of rivers, streams and seas and the steep decline bird, animal and plant species.

And it all starts with children.

If you sit in church and learn that man was given dominion over the earth and everything in it, absorb the attitude that can make or break the law given by God.

If you sit in a classroom, dissecting a dead frog or rat, and learn that the world around you and all forms are nothing more than pieces of matter without soul and life is not just a giant food chain with you at the top, why what bothers you the attention that this piece of blood and flesh under his scalpel was once a living breathing creature who cared for his life and his mother, brothers and sisters, as you are.

So why children's books that show the Earth as our home, our land, our mother is of vital importance.

Those of us who write books for children Pagan's, see the Earth and its life forms as part of a great, wonderful interconnected, the whole created universe as a great miracle – no less surprising, since it is updated every day with the sunrise and the passage of the moon in the sky.

Every animal, every bird, every stone, each little plant are important in the neo-pagan worldview, because creation and destruction of every part of this web miraculous affects us all. A gust wind in a part of the whole web shakes.

Children are shaped by the philosophies of the world where they grow. The printed word plays a huge role in the dissemination of ideologies, often through the unconscious mind.

Words have magic power. Ideas have magical powers. Books have magical powers. The stories have a magical power.

Children have magical power.

One day the children will grow up to inherit land.

The way we treat Mother Earth and its creatures depend on the ideals that shaped their minds as they grew. How you treat the planet affects every person, every animal, every living thing, every part of the web.

Therefore, those of us who wonder if we are crazy to spend so much time struggling to write children's books (and even crazier to try to post them!) comply with financial difficulties, lack of understanding of people even close to us and the hard materialism of society.

Promoting the vision of the magical world of interconnection and respect for life, and its fabric in the minds of our children is, perhaps. the most important thing we can do during our passage through this amazing web of life.

Pagan children's books really have the magic power and life beyond the page.
